The collection contains the inactive records of St. Stephen's. The most recent active records are housed in the parish offices. The majority of records are from the twentieth century and the financial records are the most comprehensive. Materials include: correspondence; minutes of the parish annual meeting; minutes of meetings of the vestry and of the Parish Corporation; parish guest book; bound copies of the parish Sunday bulletin, The Kalendar (1932-1979); bound volumes of the parish monthly newsletter, St. Stephen (1885-1960); typed notes on the history of the parish; a published history of the parish, St. Stephen's Church in Providence, 1839-1964; pew records (1840-1915); registers of church services (1924-1981). Financial records (1900-1984) include trial balance sheets, check registers, cash receipts and disbursement ledgers, payroll ledgers, pledges and offerings ledgers, and the monthly and annual reports of the treasurer.
